Accuracy comes first

We report what has actually happened, not what someone hopes will happen. Before we publish a news story, we check the key facts against at least two reputable sources, such as the company's own announcement, official documents, or established news organisations. Numbers, dates, prices and quotes are checked against the original source. We never invent quotes, figures or details.

Rumours and claims

Robotics and AI attract a lot of hype. When something is only reported or rumoured, we either wait until it is confirmed or say clearly that it is unconfirmed. When a company makes a claim we cannot check, such as a robot demo or a benchmark score, we say who is making the claim and what is still unknown.

Our own words

Every article is written by us, in our own words. We never copy text from other websites. Each story lists its sources at the bottom so you can read the originals and check our work.

A UK point of view

We cover robotics and AI from around the world, but we always ask what a story means for people and businesses in the UK: whether a product is sold here, what it costs in pounds, which UK companies are involved, and how UK and European rules apply.

Independence, affiliate links and advertising

No company pays for coverage, and no company sees a story or review before it is published. Some links on buying guides and product stories are affiliate links, which earn us a small commission if you buy something, at no extra cost to you. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases. Affiliate links never decide what we recommend, and they are not used in general news stories. Anything we were sent for free is clearly labelled.

Corrections

If we get something wrong, we fix it as quickly as we can. A significant correction is noted at the top or bottom of the story with the date and what changed, so readers can see what was corrected. Small fixes, such as a spelling mistake, are made without a note. When a story moves on, we add a dated update note linking to the newer story rather than quietly rewriting the old one. We do not delete stories to hide mistakes.

Report a mistake

If you spot an error, please email modernroboticsuk@gmail.com with the link to the story and what you think is wrong. We read every message and aim to reply within a few days. Tips and story ideas are welcome at the same address. You can find out more about us on our About page, or browse every story in our archive.
